Certified and Experienced Instructor
Steve Jenkins, now retired, was a highly qualified paramedic with 20+ years of NHS frontline experience. He holds a BSc Hons in Paramedic Science and has lectured on university paramedic programmes. After rising to the level of Urgent Care Practitioner (Paramedic) he retired from the NHS in 2024 to concentrate on managing and instructing for First Aid Training GB. In November 2025, Steve passed the Resuscitation Council UK Basic Life Support instructor course. (see below)

Meet Your Instructor, Steve Jenkins
Steve Jenkins brings decades of frontline experience to First Aid Training GB. He began his career in the NHS ambulance service, qualifying as an EMT before becoming a Paramedic on Birmingham City University’s first-ever Paramedic FdSc course. He later earned a Paramedic BSc Hons degree at Staffordshire University and went on to lecture on its Paramedic Science programme. Alongside running First Aid Training GB, Steve remains dedicated to delivering up-to-date, practical training, drawing on his extensive experience in emergency and urgent care.
Steve Jenkins completed and passed the Resuscitation Council UK Basic Life Support instructor (BLSi) course in November 2025, ensuring that Basic Life Support is taught to a recognised standard. An important part of this training and subsequent teaching is to dispel myths that exist around bystander CPR, such as “will I be sued?”
By completing the course with the Resuscitation Council UK, CPR and AED training, which is done on all First Aid courses from us, is taught in the correct way. This reduces stress to the rescuer, encourages rescuers to use the skills, which will ultimately save lives.
